Last weekend I enjoyed a leisurely lunch with friends at the recently opened Eat Greek Kouzina at the Galleria Mall. I love Greek food so I was very excited to try it out, not to mention I had already seen too many mouthwatering images on Instagram!



The restaurant is located on the ground floor, right next to Bentley Bistro & Bar, and overlooks the azure sea. We walked through the bistro following the aroma of the open kitchen where chefs in action prepared food for both restaurants, mainly distinguished by different uniforms, under the watchful eye of the Executive Chef.

You will not find typical Greek blue and white chequered table cloth in Eat Greek Kouzina, rather a fresh and contemporary lay-out, incorporating wooden, stone, and natural elements. The restaurant, which overlooks the Abu Dhabi skyline, reminds me of a modern Mediterranean restaurant which I would find in any Balkan country with a sea, it’s beautiful.

To say the restaurant was busy, is an understatement – it was filled with guests celebrating special occasions, meeting friends for lunch, and plenty of families. The lay-out is smoothly divided into a dining area connected to the outdoor terrace (which I cannot wait to try once the weather cools down), and an upper deck with an elegant bar.


The menu is evenly balanced and offers a range of food items which you can easily order without sticking to the traditional starter, main course, dessert. For starters we enjoyed the tzatziki dip with cucumbers, garlic and fresh herbs, served with baked pita bread. We then enjoyed the fried cheese Saganaki, which in this restaurant was served flambé at the table. The cheese is pan-seared in ouzo and topped with sweet fig jam- which was absolutely delicious! Being a seafood lover, I had to try the calamari which are accompanied with a creamy tartar sauce and coated in a light crispy batter. For main course we enjoyed, grilled chicken cubes, mixed with tzatziki sauce, onions and wrapped in a warm pita bread – also known as the chicken pita.

Sadly we did not have any space for dessert, however a blogger friend of mine did try the loukoumades dipped in Nutella and she absolutely loved them! Being Balkan, I was really hoping to enjoy some more typical Greek dishes like spanakopita (filo pastry filled with spinach and feta cheese), dolmades (grape leaves stuffed with minced meat) and the delectable Greek baklava, however that is a personal opinion, as I miss traditional Balkan food. The menu offers a twist on traditional Greek cuisine, which blends fresh ingredients, bursting with flavour. Yummy!

In terms of drinks, the menu is extensive offering everything you can imagine. The signature cocktails are beautifully presented in the menu, on a map of Greece, and thoughtfully created, using fresh Mediterranean herbs such as lavender, oregano and rosemary.


The restaurant is an excellent addition to the mall’s collection of unique dining experiences, and is a great place to enjoy a casual meal with family and friends. Once the weather cools down and the terrace opens, I will be among the first to enjoy dinner and drinks, while watching the sun go down.
