Milan, Emily and I decided to enjoy dinner by the river on Milan’s last night in Belgrade, so we headed to Beton Hala which hosts 6 diverse restaurants. We were attracted to the decor of the terrace of Cantina de Frida, a Mexican tapas restaurant and bar.

The inspiration of the restaurant is based on Frida Kahlo, the famous Mexican artist and her passion for living life to the full. The interior decor of the restaurant is vibrant and quirky with a lot of bright colour elements and I particularly loved the chandelier made of coloured bottles. The furniture on the terrace is made up of a mix of vintage leather chairs, colourful stools and barrels used as tables.

The menu is equally diverse and we opted for the sharing tapas menu for 4 consisting of: halloumi salad, deep fried calamari, kalamata olives, baked mushroom stuffed with chicken and cheese and carpaccio with apple and manchego cheese slices drizzled with a balsamic vinegar reduction – yummy!

The tapas arrived on colourful plates in different shapes and sizes, all suiting to the general concept of the restaurant – immediately put us in a delightful mood; food – exploding with flavour!

After a scrumptious dinner we walked along the quay as we digested and caught the final rays of the sun – the perfect ending to a Saturday evening! <3
